PAT Testing
CONTACT USWhat is PAT Testing?
In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment, commonly known as PAT testing, ensures that your electrical equipment is safe and compliant with legal requirements under the Electricity at Work Act 1989.
As a business, you are legally obliged to ensure that your equipment is in suitable, safe working order and fit for purpose in the environment it is to be used in.
Although there is no legal requirement as such, to carry out PAT testing, you do have to prove that you maintain your electrical equipment. PAT testing is how companies demonstrate due diligence in this respect.
In addition, failure to demonstrate due diligence in the maintenance of electrical equipment can invalidate certain insurance policies and leave a company open to liability. Therefore PAT testing becomes an essential service.
